Kinship Village is a player run community on the Catskills shard of Ultima Online. The new village is located on the mainland just east of Skara Brae in Trammel. The main purposes of this community are to promote role-playing and to extend enjoyment to other players through in-game socialization, events, and role-played plots. We also strive to extend enjoyment outside of the game by developing a virtual community of players. We keep contact through email, ICQ, and occasional in-person player meets when they can be arranged. 

Kinship Village began as an idea in late December of 1997 when it was learned that a new shard would be put up in Catskills. The original founders moved over from the Chesapeake shard as soon as the Catskills shard went up and immediately began advancing the idea stage to the planning stage. The players of Ari ni’Dalaigh, Aeryk ap’Dalaigh and Cu’Chulain ap Kes were heavily involved in the early planning and building stages along with many others who they began to recruit from both the Chesapeake shard and the new Catskills shard. The village buildings began going up in February of 1998 and the main central village area was completed in March of 1998. The individual residences and clan houses of the village citizens were built in the outskirts throughout this period and building continued long after.

 After the splitting of Trammel and Felucca in the world of Ultima, there was a tremendous shift in roleplaying within the world as people migrated almost compleetly to the Trammel fascet.  Currently a number of people including Eithne N'Brien, Raina Kanath and Willow are workin on starting over in a new area in the new fascet.

While the old Tavern still exists, it hasn't seen much use in quite some time, and we hope to bring the joy and fun we've all shared into the new tavern as well.
